Kyle Stevenson

As a creative-turned-engineer, Kyle brings a unique, design-thinking approach to our team, helping us build and maintain impactful digital assets for the third sector.

Kyle took the “scenic route” into technology. His tech roots trace back to building his school’s website at age 12, then he first took a detour through the film and advertising industries. Here he founded a creative research company with his own team and self-hosted internal digital research tools. This knack for blending creativity with hard tech naturally propelled him back into engineering. This led to a role as a Senior Creative Technologist at a consultancy, and ultimately to a leadership position at a telecommunications operator, where he built a technical team from scratch and architected a suite of Python-based tools.

Beyond his technical chops, Kyle is a champion of "radical incrementalism". The belief that small, smart improvements inevitably snowball into massive gains for the causes we care about. Whether he's writing documentation, streamlining internal tools, or collaborating with our partners, his focus is always on making sure things actually get done.

Outside of work, Kyle is a self-described "recovering drummer." These days, the drumsticks have been traded in for family life, a slate of side hustles, postgraduate studies, and homelab experiments. He is a passionate advocate and tinkerer for the free-and-open-source community, working to break our collective dependency on Big Tech. When he finally needs to unplug, you can find him taking a gentle ramble through the English countryside, firmly committed to not taking life too seriously.
