Mahatma Gandhi

Inspiring Revolutionary

Mahatma Gandhi, born on 2 October 1869 in Porbandar, India, was a political leader, activist, and social reformer known for his nonviolent resistance, leading India to independence and inspiring global civil rights movements.

• Nonviolent Resistance: Led successful campaigns for India’s independence from British rule.
• Unity in Diversity: His peaceful protests were embraced by Indians of all classes and religions.
• Global Influence: Inspired leaders like Martin Luther King, Jr. with his philosophy of nonviolence.
• Fight Against Racism: Opposed racial prejudice in South Africa.
• Historic Fasts: Protested discrimination against "untouchables," resulting in legal changes in 1947.

At The Developer Society, Gandhi inspires us through his unwavering commitment to social justice and peaceful change. As a digital not-for-profit co-op, we strive to empower charities and NGOs with the tools to drive impactful change, much like Gandhi empowered people to fight for their rights.

We acknowledge that no one is perfect, including Gandhi. Our focus is on drawing inspiration from his positive contributions while recognising that endorsing every aspect of a person's life and actions isn't necessary. We celebrate the values and actions that align with our mission to support social good through digital innovation.
