What is the offer?
The Developer Society, a fully not for profit co-op digital agency working exclusively with charities, NGOs and mission driven organisations. We exist to bring our expertise and experience across development, design, project management, and strategy to the groups making the biggest impact in the world. This includes some of the biggest and most innovative changemakers in the UK and around the world such as: Samaritans, Macmillan Cancer Care, Oxfam International, Help Refugees, Mercy Corps, 38 Degrees, and many more.
To help even more great groups out, we are hoping to make design time from our team available without charge in the coming months and if you're at a charity, NGO or other mission driven organisation we want to help you do more great work.
Why?
As part of our mission to support changemakers, we want to make our support available free of charge where possible. From time to time, the opportunity comes up to help out really impactful groups without charging and nothing makes us happier.
What kind of work can be done?
There are only two criteria:
1. The work must fall under the category of design
2. It must be completed in one day (in some exceptional circumstances this may be extended)
Some examples of work that our design team could help you with are: social media graphics, web design, UI/UX design, wireframing, user research, infographics, report design, merchandise design, email templates...and much more, please tell us on the form what you'd like help with.
FAQs
When is the work going to happen?
We can't confirm dates at this point. Please see this as an expression of interest and we will try to help you out if we have the capacity to do so but we can't promise at this stage if/when the support will happen as it's subject to our availability but we'll do our very best :)
How much will it cost?
Free! It just needs your time to participate in the process.
I'm not sure, can I just sign up if I'm interested?
Absolutely! If you'd like to be on the list for consideration, please fill out the form and we'll contact you if there is availability. At that point, you can make your final decision about participation.
If I'm offered a slot, I can just cancel at the last minute, right? It's free!
Please don't do that! To ensure we don't waste time that could go to other great groups who need support, if we offer you a slot and you accept, we ask that you make a strong commitment to keeping to that arrangement.
I have work I'd like to do but it will take more than one day?
In exceptional circumstances, we may be able to allocate more than one day to the project. More often though, we will be able to deliver you one day. On 99% of projects, we will be able to move your project forward in one day and leave you in a better place than you started, there are very few projects where one day of our design support won't help your work.
